Sightseeing on Huong Hai Junk
BoatWith the growth of Vietnam tourism's industry, the beautiful
delicate junks that once traversed Ha Long Bay gave way to noisy
motorboats catering to day trippers from Hanoi. Then, three years ago,
the bay's residents were amazed by the appearance of luxury yachts,
modeled after the 18th-century craft used by Vietnam Nguyen's dynasty.
The upper desk is designed to resemble an ancient Chinese palace,
compete with circular doors and pillars. Staring up at the junk's three
red sails, you are reminded of the romantic story of "Red Sails" by the
Russian writer Alexander Grin, in which a poor young woman dreams of
being whisked away by a prince in a boat with red sails.
Day 1: Ha Noi - Ha Long Bay ( L,D )
Restaurant
Cave - Ha Long BayPick up from your hotel in Hanoi at 8.30am for a
four-hour drive through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. On
arrival, transfer to a refurbished wooden sailing junk for a relaxing
cruise in Ha Long Bay. Enjoy a sumptuous fresh seafood lunch on board,
followed by an invigorating swim and a trip to explore some of the
spectacular limestone caves in this area. At sunset, we drop anchor for
the night off a remote island.
12.30pm: Board Huong Hai Junk; check-in registration
1pm: Have lunch accompanied by a welcome glass of wine
2pm: Enjoy an unforgettable cruise in Ha Long Bay
3pm. Visit Thien Cung and Dau Go caves, Tuan Chau island or Sungsot cave.
Sunbathe
on the unspoilt beaches or go swimming in the crystal-clear waters.
Enjoy afternoon tea with pastries on the sundeck of the junk or in the
restaurant.
6pm: Cruise around the lagoon
7pm: Enjoy a 4-course dinner. Overnight on the junk.
Day 2: Ha Long Cruise - Ha noi ( B,L )
Wake up to the sound of lapping waves at the start of another glorious day.
07.30am: Set sail again in Ha Long Bay
8am: Enjoy breakfast while cruising
9am:
Visit some of the most scenic spots in the bay, including Bai Tu Long
Bay, Teapot island, Chopstiks island and Bai Tho mountain.
11am: Return to Halong City and have lunch o¬n board.
12 noon: Return to Halong wharf and disembark
Transfer back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi by 5pm. Drop off at your hotel. The trip concludes in Hanoi.
