Nui Sam (Sam Mountain):
From Long Xuyen, one has to travel almost 60 km to get to Sam Mountain which lies west of Chau Doc, at approximately 2 km from the frontier between Vietnam and Cambodia. The 230-m-high mountain does not only offer beautiful landscapes, but it is also where many historic remains deeply loved by the inhabitants of Nam Bo plain are located. Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An Pagoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, Tao Ngo Garden, and Bach Van Hill are among the famous sites to visit near Sam Mountain.

Tay An Pagoda:
The pagoda was built in 1847 following designs often found in both Vietnamese and Indian pagodas. The complex of architectural structures built within the premises of the pagoda work in harmony with the natural surrounding.

Temple of Thanh Mau (Den Thanh Mau):
The temple is dedicated to a woman. The sanctuary of the temple is for the worship of a granite statue of Thanh Mau (Mother of God). the annual festival at the temple of Thanh Mau is organized between the 22nd and the 27th days of the fourth moon. The festival draws as many worshippers as that at the Huong Pagoda in northern Vietnam.

Grotto Pagoda (Chua Hang):
The pagoda was built inside a natural grotto which is located high on the western slope of a high mountain range. The grotto is two meters high, one meter wide and 20 meters long. This ancient pagoda was the hideout for resistance fighters during the last two resistance wars.

Tomb of Thoai Ngoc Hau (Lang Thoai Ngoc Hau):
Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb, located in front of Chua Xu Temple, is the biggest monument at the foot of Sam Mountain, 5-km southwest of Chau Doc. Thoai Ngoc Hau (1761–1829), originally named Nguyen Van Thoai, was the first man from this area to exploit the virgin soil, establish living settlements, and dig Vinh Te and THa channels. He was buried there along with his two wives and a temple in his honor was built in the 1930s.Every year, people come to his tomb to worship him during the 6th lunar month.

President Ton Duc Thang Memorial House (Nha luu niem Ton Duc Thang):
This is a simple wooden house built in the Ong Ho river islet in My Hoa Hung village, three kilometers from Long Xuyen as the crow flies. It is accessible by water. Visitors to the memorial house are taken on board a launch for a cruise along the Hau river. On the way to the memorial house visitors can enjoy the beautiful fruit gardens sprawling along the river banks. On the way back to Long Xuyen the launch will take visitors on a detour to see the beautiful lush green riverbanks.

Nine-level tower (Cuu Trung Dai):
The nine-storeyed tower is located in Thoi Son village, Tinh Bien district. It is very close to a road that runs from Vietnam into Cambodia.

Ba Chua Xu Temple:
Ba Chua Xu Temple was built in 1820 on Sam Mountain in An Giang province. According to a legend, in the early 1800s villagers found a statue of a lady dating to the 6th century in the forest. They built a temple in her honor, hoping that she would bring them better crops and better lives. This is why the marble statue of Ba Chua Xu, meaning "country lady," is worshipped. Ba Chua Xu Festival is organized annually at the end of the 4th lunar month; worshippers touch her statue and ask for her protection and benediction.
