Binh Dinh is located on the coast of Central Vietnam and is divided in
four clear-cut regions: highlands, midlands, plains, and coast. It is
bordered by Quang Ngai to the north, Phu Yen to the south, the East Sea
to the east, and Gia Lai to the west. Binh Dinh is 1,655 km from Hanoi
and is accessible either by car, train, or plane. The main ethnic
groups in this area are the Kinh, Ba Na, Lo, and Cham. The annual
average temperature varies between 26 and 28°C.
Special
products of the province: silk, swallow nest, shrimp, fish, precious
wood, vegetable oil, rice, marble, titanium, and handicraft articles.
Binh Dinh is also the home of old folk opera, and Bai Choi folk songs.
The
many historical sites include the Cham Tower, Duong Long Tower, Doi
Tower, and Quang Trung Museum. The region also offers plenty of
beautiful landscapes such as Quy Hoa, Hoi Van, Thi Nai Lowland, and Ham
Mo Springs.

Geographically, Binh Dinh is a center of tourism zones (they are Nha Trang, Playcu, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue...) as well as a point connecting National Highway N�19 to the historical Ho Chi Minh path also the three-way border-crossing of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia. All of that makes a favourable condition for the sea, high land and mountain development, inbound and outbound tourism development. Therefore in the overall plan for Vietnam's tourism development to 2010, Binh Dinh is expected to pay an important part in the national tourism.
With the advantages of natural resources and other resouces for development, the province's main tourism activities are cultural festivals, sea bathing, sport, transit tour with major tourism areas:
* Qui Nhon tourism zone and adjacent areas include a series of attractive tourist resorts with wonderfull landscape, beaches, convalesce homes, cultural vestiges, religious festivals, cultural activities... especially the Qui Nhon-Song Cau route wich interconnects ecological tourism resorts, attractive see-sight spreading along the coast line in Southern Binh Dinh - Northern Phu Yen.
* Phu Phong townlet tourism zone and adjacent areas include a series of most valuable cultural historical vestiges of Binh Dinh. Its center is Quang Trung museum, Duong Long tower.. and attractive ecological tourism points such as Ham Ho, Nui Mot lake, hydro-electric Vinh Son lake.
* Binh Dinh towlet zone and adjacent areas include Do Ban citadel and ThapThap pagoda, Hoi Van hot spring, Nui Ba historical vestige, traditional handicraft villages.
